i've been confronting my mother with her dubious parenting skills (abuse) of me as a child.
particularly the beatings i would get with the wooden spoon.
not a light smack but hitting me as hard as she could for as long as she could.
yes I was beaten as a child, not as severely as most.
What got me was the pressure to beat my son at 9 mos old for making noise during the meeting. It was one of the reasons why I left. People would give me dirty looks for letting him play on the floor quietly during the meeting. I still feel bad for the beatings I doled out in the Kingdom Hall bathroom and at home.
I promised myself and I haven't spanked him since I left the Jw's when he was 6.
i have always wanted to do that.. nothing special.
in fact, i have learned i'm not very good at it.
i have many talents.
How cold hearted are they? How low will they continue to sink? Even of Facebook they allow them selves to be brainwashed and try to perpetuate it to others.
BTW Im on Facebook at 4Am because I can't sleep. I have been up taking care of my sick little boy all night. So maybe I'm over sensitive because of the lack of sleep. But I reported that post to Facebook as offensive just for kicks. 😂😇😇

I can't believe I used to listen to that brainwashing. They are masters of twisting words and scriptures to fit what they believe and how you should feel and act.
My life is busier than ever with its own share of problems but since I left JW.con I've never felt better. The stress and unhappiness is gone. The stress and negative world view was caused by them not life. I wish more people could wake up and see that.
i know we are all anonymous for our own personal reasons, so i understand if you would rather not say.

my mom especially had some go-to phrases that to this day echo in my head and piss me off.
things like, .
"don't get mad at me for enforcing the rules, because jehovah made them, so if you don't like it, you're disrespecting him.
My dad used to tell me to " put my dark clothes on and go play on the highway"
He's still pretty awesome. But on a serious note he used to quote 1 corthinians "bad association spoils useful habits" when I wanted to hang out with school friends at age 10-12. So by age 14-16 I would sneak out and hang out with the worst people I could find, i.e punks, thugs, drug dealers. I guess I figured if everyone was bad it didn't matter. Not really his fault though. I blame it on the Borg and the mental abuse they subject even the youngest members to.
